White said when police arrived to investigate a call of shots fired, Sigala was no longer at the scene. White said the wounded man's friends apparently loaded him into a vehicle and drove him to Intermountain Medical Center, where they dropped him off and left.
Medical professionals pronounced Sigala dead upon arrival, White said.
But authorities are not certain if Sigala was killed instantly or died during the drive, White said.
Police took about seven or eight witnesses in for questioning, but believe there may be more witnesses to the shooting.
Police also said they want to question a 22-year-old man in connection with Sigala's death, who may have fled to Nevada where he has acquaintances.
Police did not release a motive in the slaying, but said the gang unit was investigating.
