State colleges: Utah volleyball swept by Oregon

Chelsey Schofield had a team-high 11 kills, but the Utah volleyball lost 25-18, 25-17, 25-23 on Sunday at home to No. 3-ranked Oregon. The Utes were outhit .310 to .144 for the match.


Texas-Brownsville 1, Westminster 0 • At Victoria, Texas, the Griffins dropped to 12-5-1 after falling in their regular season finale. Isadora Freitas scored for UTB.

Utah State 4, Louisiana Tech 0 • At Logan, the Aggies earned a share of the WAC title — their third straight regular-season championship and fourth in five years. Jade Tarver scored twice and Lexie Morgan and Libby Lundquist added goals for the Ags.

Southern Utah 3, Cal State Bakersfield 2 (2OT) • At Cedar City, seniors Amanda Humphreys, Missy Lazcano and Stacey Brinkman each scored a goal for the T-birds.

Arizona 1, Utah 0 (2OT) • At Tucson, Ariz., the Wildcats' Shannon Heinzler scored with two seconds remaining in the game to drop Utah to 8-8-2 overall, 3-7-0 in the Pac-12.


At Kiawah Island, S.C., Utah Valley's Mason Casper is tied for the first-round lead after shooting a 3-under 68 in the Wendy's Kiawah Classic. The Wolverines are tied for 15th as a team.
