Catholic group honors Mormon leader, other Utah dignitaries

LDS leader Dieter F. Uchtdorf and his wife, Harriet R. Uchtdorf, were among those honored Wednesday evening by Catholic Community Services of Utah for exemplifying Christian values of "love, compassion and hope through service, support and collaboration."

The Uchtdorfs were among a handful of recipients honored at the Catholic group's annual Humanitarian Awards Dinner held at Little America Hotel in downtown Salt Lake City. Other honorees included Spencer F. and Cleone P. Eccles, Robert C. and Wendy R. Steiner, Mark Franken (formerly with the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops), and Florence Holtshouser,who has been serving the homeless for more than 50 years.
