The Utah Valley University men's basketball team defeated North Carolina A&T 64-55 Monday night in Greensboro, N.C.

Ben Aird scored 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds for UVU, while Nick Thompson tallied 13 points and 14 boards, and Holton Hunsaker scored 10 points.

After giving up a five-point halftime lead and trailing 36-34, the Wolverines (1-1) took control with a runs of 13-1 and 10-1.

Lamont Middleton led the Aggies with 23 points.

Women's basketball

Utah Valley 78, Utah State 62 • In Orem, Sammie Jensen had 31 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Wolverines to the win. Kaycee Mansfield added 16 points and 10 boards for UVU (1-1), and Whitney Jenkins scored 10 points.

Devyn Christensen led USU (0-1) with 16 points.
