Former Jazz forward Josh Howard has signed a one-year deal for the veterans minimum with the Minnesota Timberwolves, ESPN's Chris Broussard reported.

The 32-year-old Howard averaged 13.5 points in 43 games last year with Utah, but was not re-signed, despite Howard reportedly having interest in returning to the team. Once the team added Marvin Williams, however, there wouldn't have been much room for Howard.

Instead, the 10th-year veteran joins a Northwest Division rival. Through eight games, the T-Wolves are 8-3. The Wolves' roster is depleted by injuries, including to swingmen Chase Budinger and former All-Star Brandon Roy.
