Mo Williams remained in a walking boot Monday, as he missed his second consecutive game with a right foot injury he suffered in Friday's 104-102 win over Sacramento.

The Jazz point guard, as of Monday, had not resumed basketball activities, but said he targeted Wednesday's game at New Orleans for his return.

"It's mostly the twisting and turning aspect of it," Williams said.

The veteran landed awkwardly on his foot defending a 3-pointer by Sacramento's Aaron Brooks in the first quarter Friday. He returned to the game in the second quarter but played less than two minutes. He did not dress for the Jazz's loss at Sacramento on Saturday.

However, the Jazz remain confident in a quick recovery.

"He's in less pain than he was," coach Tyrone Corbin said, "less discomfort than he was a couple of days ago. So I think he's making progress. And just continue making progress to where he feels whenever he gets on the floor he can cut and turn and fly out and not have any discomfort."

Williams averages 13.8 points, fourth among the Jazz. He has now missed three games with various injuries. In addition to his foot, he has endured a straight right adductor, as well as an injuries right thumb.

Murphy to D-League

The Jazz followed through on their earlier plans to send rookie guard Kevin Murphy to the Reno BigHorns of the Development League on Monday. Murphy, the No. 47 pick in June's draft, played in two games and averaged 1.3 points for the Jazz.

"I think it will help him a ton," Corbin said. "He's getting a chance to play on the floor. They're finishing up their training camp and getting ready for some games. So he can get a chance to get on the floor and just play."

General Manager Dennis Lindsey said Murphy's assignment is open-ended, but will last at least through the BigHorns' season opening five-game homestand, which ends Dec. 10.

Murphy was a prolific scorer at Tennessee Tech. In October, his wife had their first child, Kevin Jr.

Kings fined

The Sacramento Kings may want to be more careful about what comes out of their mouths. First, DeMarcus Cousins was ejected against the Jazz on Saturday at Sleep Train Arena, then on Monday point guard Aaron Brooks was fined $25,000 for throwing his mouth guard into the stands after losing on a last-second shot by Gordon Hayward on Friday.
