Hurricane police detained a male Tuesday night after they found a second male critically wounded from a gunshot.

About 7:50 p.m., police were dispatched to the area of the St. George Horizon Trailer Park. While officers were on their way, they were advised that several shots had been fired, according to a news release from the department.

Officers arrived to find a male wounded from a gunshot. Medical personnel responded and he was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

Officers also made contact with a male who was allegedly involved and detained him for questioning, according to the release.

Police are still investigating the incident and have not released the ages of those allegedly involved.
