An 86-year-old woman died Saturday from injuries suffered when she was struck by a vehicle backing out of the driveway of an Ogden home, police said.

The accident happened about 10:30 a.m. in the neighborhood near 1600 East and 27th Street, said Ogden Police Lt. Troy Burnett.

The female driver called 911 when she realized the elderly woman had been injured, he said.

An ambulance transported the woman to McKay-Dee Hospital where she died, Burnett said. Police have not yet released the name of either woman.

The accident investigation was ongoing and no citations had been issued as of Saturday afternoon, Burnett said.
