Candle Warmers Etc., Woods Cross, has announced that former Hallmark associate home fragrance buyer Amanda Wrigley has joined the company's sales team as an account representative. She will also take on the position of brand manager for the candle manufacturer's Jamie Clair candles, wax melts and home fragrance oils.
Kelli Charlton of St. George has been named to the board of directors of the Heart Walk Foundation, an international humanitarian organization. The southern Utah based non-profit organization was established in 2004 to serve the forgotten and neglected Q'ero tribes of the Andes Mountains in Peru. Charlton is the former owner and CEO of Planet Geothermal and was the Utah state president of the Business and Professional Women organization in 2007 - 2008.
The Utah State Bar recently honored a number of lawyers, judges and a certified public accountant at its annual fall forum. Brian R. Florence, a former president of the Bar who was part of thousands of mediation and arbitration cases, was presented with a Lifetime Service Award, as was Utah Supreme Court Justice Christine M. Durham. CPA Mary Kay Griffin, who has more than 30 years of experience in the field, was presented with the Community Member of the Year award. Attorney Paul M. Durham, who in 1991 founded a two-man law firm that grew to become Durham Jones & Pinegar, was presented with the Professionalism Award. Distinguished Service Awards were presented to David O. Nuffer, Samuel Alba, Steven T. Waterman and David R. Hamilton. Nuffer was appointed as a judge in the U. S. District Court for Utah in March after serving as a U.S. magistrate. Alba, who served as a U. S. magistrate from 1992 to this year before practicing at Prince Yeates & Geldzahler, also worked with the United States Attorney's Office in Salt Lake City. Waterman, who works with the firm of Dorsey & Whitney, has been a co-chair of the Bar's admissions committee for 15 years. Hamilton was appointed a 2nd District Court judge in 2010. The Pro Bono Service Award was presented to William Morrison, the founding partner and managing attorney of Morrison Law Office. Outstanding Mentor Awards were presented to David M. Leta and Thomas R. Vaughn. Leta is a partner at Snell & Wilmer in Salt Lake City, where his practice concentrates on bankruptcy litigation, business reorganization and creditor rights. Vaughn works as an associate general counsel to the Utah Legislature.
