Every Utah politician should be required to read and reread the solid Tribune editorial "A killing climate: Global warming unchecked" (Our View, Dec. 2). They need to digest accurate information and opinion from reliable sources like The Tribune. This is one of the best ways to counter the enormous influence of the more than 2,000 lobbyists and many ad agencies supported by the fossil fuel industry and conservative climate-denier organizations in Washington, D.C., and Salt Lake City.

And after reading the editorial, they must waste no time and visit one of the three Utah movie theaters currently showing "Chasing Ice." Anyone willing to open his or her eyes and watch this award-winning documentary will be convinced of the reality of human-caused climate change.

Along the way they will be treated to images of spectacular frozen landscapes and the compelling story of a man who is determined to make a difference with his camera.
