Tyrell Corbin, the Jazz coach's son, is a sophomore point guard at Salt Lake Community College. He is 20.
"I have a kid myself who's a basketball player," Tyrone Corbin said.
Corbin and guard Gordon Hayward on Thursday both visited Berger, who remains hospitalized at Intermountain Health Center in Murray.
Corbin visited with Berger, and while he declined to share the specifics of what he told Medford, Ore., native, he said, "If I can say anything encouraging to him that helps him fight his way through it, that's all it's about."
Hayward arrived Thursday after Berger had been taken away for tests, and was unable to speak with the Aggies starter. However, he said he spent time with Berger's family.
"It was good just visiting with them and talking to them about Danny," Hayward said.
Utah State canceled its game against BYU on Wednesday, and the Aggies will return to the court Saturday against Western Oregon. According to media reports, Berger is expected to attend Saturday's game at the Spectrum in Logan.
"He's part of Utah," Corbin said. "We're Utah, and he's a kid that had a tough time in Utah. We feel his pain."
9-year-old football sensation attends game
Samantha Gordon, the 9-year-old Utah Conference football star from Herriman whose exploits have become a YouTube sensation, attended the Jazz-Raptors game.
Accompanied by her coaches and teammates, Gordon met assistant coach Jeff Hornacek before the game, when her video highlights were shown on the JumboTron.
Gordon has appeared on several national TV shows, including "Good Morning America" and "NFL Game Day."
Gordon will also be pictured on boxes of Wheaties cereal, with distribution in Utah coming soon.
