OK, I wasn't thrilled when President George W. Bush won a second term. But he wasn't the devil, and I remained a loyal American, engaged with other Americans and with my government, because that's how adults do it.

The moaning, petulance, fits, snits, tantrums, threats to secede, hysteria, and paranoia (the president doesn't want your guns, folks) from the "side" that did not "win" has been beyond belief. (Actually, a peaceful, democratic election is a win for everyone.)

Oh, yeah: As one of those pesky minority types, I'm still waiting for my "free gifts" from Uncle Sam — after paying income, property, sales, Social Security and Medicare taxes for decades.

Geez, people, grow up!
