Plans for the weekend: The old year winds down

• The Utah Jazz host the Los Angeles Clippers tonight at EnergySolutions Arena, 301 W. South Temple, Salt Lake City. Game starts at 7. Tickets available at Smith's Tix.

• Hip-hop performer Yazzi performs tonight at Kilby Court, 741 S. Kilby Court (330 West), Salt Lake City. Opening acts: Def Quo, Flshwndz, Shaq D. Show starts at 7. Tickets are $10, at 24Tix.

• Hip-hop duo The Underachievers performs tonight at The Salt Haus, 735 S. 400 West, Salt Lake City. Show starts at 9. Tickets are $15, at Smith's Tix.

• Blues/jazz musician Andy Frasco performs tonight at The State Room, 638 S. State St., Salt Lake City. Opening act: The Congress. Show starts at 9. Tickets are $10, at the venue's website.

• The Cougars of Brigham Young University take on the Virginia Tech Hokies in men's basketball action, Saturday at EnergySolutions Arena, 301 W. South Temple, Salt Lake City. Game starts at noon. Tickets at Smith's Tix.

• EVE, Salt Lake City's three-day end-of-the-year celebration, runs Saturday, Sunday and Monday at venues around downtown Salt Lake City. Headliners include: Dirty Dozen Brass Band and Nick Waterhouse on Saturday; Blind Pilot on Sunday, and !!! (Chk Chk Chk) on New Year's Eve. For details, go to the EVE website.

• A cappella group Octapella performs its 14th annual Christmas concert, Saturday at the Jeanne' Wagner Theatre, 138 W. 300 South, Salt Lake City. Show starts at 7. Tickets are $15, at ArtTix.
