Ogden police have identified a man who was fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver on Christmas Eve.

David Paul Saures, 56, and his wife were crossing Wall Avenue at 26th Street at 6:40 p.m. Monday when he was hit. Saures, who was thrown 100 feet by the dark colored, four-door sedan, later died at the hospital.

The driver of the car stopped briefly, then drove away southbound.

Saures' wife was not injured, but was traumatized, said Ogden police Lt. Chad Ledford.

Ledford said Wednesday that investigators continued to look for the vehicle, believed to have front-end damage and a missing windshield wiper.

Anyone with information about the car or driver is asked to call Ogden police at 801-395-8221.
