It wasn't the most inspiring performance to open conference play, but the Utah State men's basketball team earned a 71-67 victory at UT San Antonio on Saturday night.

Junior guard Preston Medlin starred, scoring a season-high 24 points on 9-of-15 shooting. Spencer Butterfield added 14 points with seven rebounds.

Utah State shot 62.2 percent from the field and 45.5 percent from 3-point range. The defense held UTSA below 40 percent shooting in the game, and the Roadrunners went 2 of 9 over the final four minutes of the game.
