Former Syracuse High star Mylee Davis has signed to play softball for BYU, the Cougars announced Monday. Davis is transferring from Salt Lake Community College and will play for the Cougars this spring. The catcher earned second-team all-state honors at Syracuse in 2011 and was a standout at SLCC last spring, competing in 53 games. The Bruins went 59-9 last year and made it to the NJCAA National Championship game before losing to top-ranked Chattanooga State. Davis had a .317 batting average and hit 10 doubles and five home runs. She drove in 32 runs. The BYU softball team begins its season on Feb. 7 against Colorado State in the Red Desert Classic.
