Noah's, a Salt Lake City-based company that operates five event centers that can be used for wedding receptions, corporate board meetings and other gatherings, plans to open eight locations outside the state in 2013. The $24 million expansion will include new centers in Arizona and Texas.

William Shatner is getting a new Priceline commercial co-star, Kaley Cuoco of CBS's "The Big Bang Theory" sitcom. In an upcoming campaign for the online travel services company, Shatner's Negotiator reveals he has a daughter, played by Cuoco. She's been schooled since childhood in the art of what else? deal-making, and now is ready to join dad in pitching Priceline.
Two KPMG auditors are facing charges of enabling failed TierOne Bank to hide millions in losses during the 2008 financial crisis by employing flawed accounting procedures. The Securities and Exchange Commission contends KPMG partner John Aesoph and senior manager Darren Bennett failed to demand accurate information from the bank. The two could face fines or suspension from practice.
sale in jeopardy
British bank HSBC's plan to sell its stake in the Ping An Group is in jeopardy after the China Development Bank decided not to finance a large part of the $9.4 billion deal. The state-run Chinese bank was expected to help the Charoen Pokphand Group of Thailand buy HSBC's 15.6 percent stake in Ping An, a conglomerate with long-standing ties to relatives of China's prime minister, Wen Jiabao.
Top SEC enforcer
Robert Khuzami is leaving the Securities and Exchange Commission after leading the agency's efforts to penalize the nation's largest banks for actions that triggered the 2008 financial crisis. The SEC announced Khuzami's resignation Wednesday. He was named enforcement director in February 2009, just months after the crisis peaked. His efforts drew historic SEC settlements.
Olive Garden gets
Darden Restaurants Inc. is replacing the president of its flagship Olive Garden chain after a new marketing campaign failed to reverse slumping sales. Dave George, who most recently headed Darden's LongHorn Steakhouse restaurants, will be the new president of Olive Garden, effective Monday. He takes over for John Caron. Darden says Caron is leaving the company after 10 years.
