Another great effort by Utah. Another great effort by the Utes that goes down as a loss.

Utah battled UCLA in front of a spirited crowd at the Huntsman Center, but couldn't make a key shot over multiple possessions with the chance to take the lead. The final was 57-53, with the Bruins escaping their first trip to Salt Lake City.

Glen Dean, the Utes' junior point guard, missed two wide-open looks from 3-point range when either one of the shots would have given his team a lead.

As a result, Utah falls to 0-3 in the Pac-12 Conference. Those three defeats are by a combined eight points.
