Here's your weekly roundup of what local city councils, school boards and other government entities are tackling during regularly scheduled meetings. All meetings are open to the public, and citizens are welcome to voice their opinions during designated times. If you do wish to speak at a particular meeting, you may need to sign up in advance.

Centerville City Council • Will hold a public hearing on a proposal to increase the city's park impact fee from $1,200 per new residential unit to $2,058; Tuesday, Jan. 15, 7 p.m., 250 N. Main St., Centerville. View the Centerville agenda.

Cottonwood Heights Planning Commission • Will hold public hearings on changing from single-family to residential office zoning on properties at 6814 and 6826 S. Highland Dr., conditional permit request for law office at 2494 E. Bengal Blvd., and installation of a cell tower in the Metropolitan Water District yard at 3430 E. Dixie State Board of Trustees • Expected to vote on a new name for the college after it becomes a university; Friday, Jan. 18, 9 a.m., Zion Room on the 5th Floor of the Jeffrey R. Holland Centennial Commons building on the Dixie State College campus in St. George.
