Kim Parker Beeston scored a team-high 15 points, and the BYU women's basketball team cruised past Pepperdine 68-42 on Saturday in Provo for its ninth straight victory.

Haley Steed tallied 12 points and nine assists for the Cougars (12-4, 3-0 West Coast Conference), Jennifer Hamson had 10 points and nine rebounds and Ashley Garfield had 10 points.

Parker Beeston hit two 3-pointers to spark a 15-2 run to open the second half as the Cougars pulled away from the Waves (4-10, 1-2).

Utah Valley 71, Chicago State 38 • In Orem, Sammie Jensen had 22 points and 13 rebounds in leading the Wolverines (7-11, 2-0 Great West Conference) to the win.

Kaycee Mansfield finished with 16 points and nine boards, going 6-of-8 from the floor, while Tina Doughty had 13 points and Taylor Huber added 10.

Southern Utah 74, Weber State 61 • In Ogden, Hailey Mandelko, Kimie Hawkins and Carli Moreland scored 14 points each as the Thunderbirds (3-2, 9-6) handed the Wildcats (0-5, 0-14) their 34th straight loss.

San Jose State 103, Utah State 80 • Makenlee Williams scored 19 points to lead five Aggies in double figures, but the Spartans tied a school record for total points in the win.

Salt Lake Community College 68, Colorado Northwestern 47 • In Rangeley, Colo., center Rachel Morris scored 10 points on 5-for-6 shooting to lead the Bruins to the win.

Men's basketball

Utah Valley 83, Houston Baptist 62 • In Orem, Alfonzo Hubbard scored a game-high 24 points for the Wolverines (9-10, 1-1 Great West Conference).

Idaho State 54, Southern Utah 53 • In Cedar City, Damon Heuir led SUU with 17 points, but the Thunderbirds (5-10, 3-3 Big Sky Conference) lost their third straight game.

Salt Lake Community College 100, Colorado Northwestern 62 • In Rangeley, Colo., Skyler Halford scored 18 points, Sai Tummala had 17, and Gary Payton II added 14 as the Bruins earned their 13th straight win.
