Park City Medical Center handing out sanitizer to fight 'Sundance Flu'

There's one Sundance freebie nobody wants: The flu.

And, with some 30,000 out-of-staters descending on Park City this week for the 2013 Sundance Film Festival, some of them possibly carrying the virus with them, the Park City Medical Center will fight back by distributing 5,000 bottles of hand sanitizer, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"We know that one of the best ways to prevent the flu is frequent hand sanitizing, so we will be giving out free bottles of hand sanitizers to some of the hotels, restaurants and transportation companies," hospital CEO Rob Allen said. "If people slip these into their pockets or purses and use them to clean their hands, it really will help them to stay healthy and enjoy the film festival."

The hospital recommends that people bring their own hand sanitizer if they can, as supplies could run low.

The notion of the flu working its way through the Sundance attendees has been making the rounds. There's even a Twitter account for @SundanceFlu.
