The Utah Highway Patrol confirmed Wednesday that it is investigating whether an Interstate 215 road rage shooting may be linked to a similar Salt Lake City shooting.
UHP Cpl. Todd Johnson said troopers are looking for the driver of a blue 2006 or later model Toyota Camry, with unknown Texas plates, who allegedly fired a handgun at a white Chevrolet pickup truck. That incident took place about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the area of a ramp merging eastbound State Road 201 traffic onto I-215.
As the they merged onto the ramp, the Toyota's driver apparently became upset with the pickup's route. As the two vehicles approached 3500 South and the pickup took an off-ramp, the driver of the Toyota opened fire, striking the body of the truck several times.
