Police initially thought something was afoul on the railroad tracks on Wednesday morning, but it was actually just a fowl, or two.
About 9:51 a.m., Provo and Union Pacific police responded to a call about a suspicious package between the two Union Pacific lines. But it was two dead chickens in a paper sack, said Aaron Hunt, Union Pacific spokesman.
A man had been driving near the tracks when he hit a bump, and the dead birds bounced out of the back and wound up by the tracks, said Provo Police Lt. Mathew Siufanua.
The birds were moved and train traffic is running as usual.
