But will that include injured star cornerback Darrelle Revis, who has become the subject of trade speculation?
"I'm literally hours into the building," Idzik said. "That, we're going to save for our evaluation process."
Idzik inherits a roster that includes one of the league's top defensive players in Revis, who is recovering from a serious knee injury and has a contract that voids after the 2013 season. Revis also wants to be paid big money, fit for a player Ryan has repeatedly called one of the best he has ever coached. But a report Wednesday night said Johnson, concerned that the Jets won't be able to re-sign Revis next year, wants to explore trade options rather than risk losing him for nothing as a free agent next winter.
That talk had an angry Revis taking to Twitter on Thursday afternoon, saying he was "speechless" about the trade rumors but was "more upset for the jet nation for having to go through this!!!"
Johnson would neither confirm nor deny that the report was true.
Ravens' Reed says he's not retiring
Ravens safety Ed Reed isn't planning on joining teammate Ray Lewis in retirement after the Super Bowl.
"I'll be playing next year," Reed said Thursday before Baltimore hit the practice field in preparation for the Feb. 3 Super Bowl matchup against the San Francisco 49ers.
There was speculation that the 34-year-old Reed might retire after this season.
Earlier this month, in announcing his intention to step down after the playoffs, Lewis spoke of taking a "last ride."
To which Reed said Thursday: "No, it's not my last ride. I just bought a bike."
Now in his 11th season, Reed hasn't missed a start since 2010, when he sat out Baltimore's first six games with a hip injury.
Reed has been selected to play in nine Pro Bowls, including each one since 2006.
Reed's 61 career interceptions are a franchise record.
