West Jordan police want to find the man who brought a woman suffering from an overdose to the hospital — and figure out whether he's a criminal or a hero.
On Thursday, the man brought the middle-age woman to the Jordan Valley Medical Center emergency room and said that he had found her lying in a snowbank, said West Jordan police Lt. Rich Bell. But he left before the staff could get his name or contact information.
The woman recovered, but the last thing she could remember was being in West Valley City on Wednesday, Bell said. He could not expand on what she was doing before her memory faded or what drug they suspect caused the overdose.
Police want to talk to the man to get a better idea of what happened to her. The snow bank story could turn out to be bogus, Bell said.
"We don't know if this is a crime or a Good Samaritan that came across somebody who overdosed and potentially saved her life," Bell said.
The man is described as possibly Latino and stood 5-foot-8. He also drove a black Ford F-150 pickup truck — a model from the late 1990s or early 2000s — with an extended cab. Anyone with information about the man or what happened to the woman is asked to call the Valley Emergency Communications Center at 801-840-4000.
Bell also said that they do not believe there is a link between this case and that of a 19-year-old woman who woke up in another city after a party a few weeks prior.
