Free health screenings • A free Healthy Heart Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at Intermountain Medical Center, 5300 S. State St. The event will include seminars; cooking demonstrations; healthy snacks; and a display of a Life Flight helicopter and emergency vehicles. Free screenings — including EKGs, cholesterol and glucose checks (nonfasting), blood-pressure tests and body-fat testing — will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Cottonwood Heights

Keep the streets clean • Groups of at least 10 people can apply to sponsor the cleanup of certain roads under the city's new Adopt-A-Roadway program. The commitment is for two years, and the groups must organize a cleanup effort at least once every three months. The city will provide safety vests, trash bags and signs recognizing the groups.
