Real Salt Lake midfielder Javier Morales will miss the next 4-6 weeks after undergoing surgery Monday to repair a lateral menisical tear.

Morales suffered the injury a loss to the Danish U-20 national team last week in Casa Grande, Ariz. The Argentine flew back to Salt Lake from the team's training in Irvine, Calif., and underwent the surgery Monday.

"Happy to report that this was a straight-forward procedure, Javier has a good knee," team doctor Andrew Cooper said in a team release. "Very similar to the injury he suffered in MLS Cup 2009 on his left knee. The surgery was uncomplicated and we can expect Javi back on the field doing soccer-specific stuff in about 4-6 weeks."
