'Dixie' offensive

A play is canceled at a Salt Lake County high school because one anonymous community member complains ("'All Shook Up' too racy for district; Herriman High show canceled," Tribune, Jan. 3).

But an institution's name ("Dixie") that offends a whole class of people will remain ("Dixie State College keeping its name amid controversy," Tribune, Jan. 19).

How does this make sense?
