South Sevier's Race Parsons is one of the best scorers in the history of Utah high school basketball, and he continues to climb in the record books.

The senior guard dropped 18 points in a 56-32 win over North Summit in the opening round of the Class 2A state tournament Thursday, moving him past Robbie Reid (2,032 points for Spanish Fork from 1990-93) for fifth all-time.

Parsons has now scored 2,056 points in his four seasons with the Rams. He needs 45 more points to move past Mike Maxwell (Highland, 1983-87).

But Parsons might be running out of time.

The Southern Utah University signee plays top-ranked Wasatch Academy in the state tournament Friday at 9 p.m.

Is this where Parsons' incredible high school career ends?
