Utah baseball powered in the runs late, breaking a 2-2 tie in the eighth inning to beat UC Davis 7-3 in Davis, Calif. TJ Bennett started the Utes' spree with a two-run homer, and AJ Young and Cory Hunt followed with home runs of their own in the ninth.

Portland 7, Utah Valley 3 • The Wolverines gave up five runs in the seventh inning in their loss in Portland, Ore.

Dixie 17, Montana State-Billings 6 • The Red Storm routed their opponent in St. George, pouring in 10 unanswered runs in the seventh and eighth innings.

Softball

Utah 5, Ohio State 2 • The Utes extended their winning streak to six games, thanks to senior Kelsi Hoopiiaina's 2-for-3 performance at the plate in Palm Springs, Calif. Utah tied 1-1 with Cal Poly in their second game of the day, due to a pre-established "drop-dead" time.

UC Riverside 4, Weber State 3 • The Wildcats relinquished an early 2-0 lead in their loss in Riverside, Calif.

Men's golf

Southern Utah finished ninth in the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate in Palm Desert, Calif., led by Sammy Cole's 1-under 71 in the final round.

Track & field

Utah Valley senior Allah Laryea-Akrong won his fourth Great West Conference championship in 60 and 200 meters, finishing in 6.81 seconds and 21.76 seconds, respectively, in Houston. UVU's Maryn Pincock won Top Performance of the Meet with her record-breaking shot put toss of 46 feet, 8 inches.

Skiing

Utah finished in third place at the RMISA Championships in Bozeman, Mont. Ana Kobal was second in the women's slalom.

Women's tennis

Utah beat New Mexico 5-2 and then Idaho State 7-0 in Salt Lake City.
