Here's what's happening today in pop culture:

• Can you go without your electronics for 24 hours? The National Day of Unplugging starts tonight at sunset. [Entertainment Weekly]

• David Bowie's new album doesn't come out until March 12 – but you can listen to it via streaming on iTunes right now. (What are you waiting for?) [Vulture]

• The third and final movie in "The Hobbit" trilogy has been moved back to December 2014. If you were planning that far ahead, and you're not somehow economically linked to the movie, you need help. [The Guardian]
