Happy Wednesday. This morning the U.S. Supreme Court tackles the second case regarding the constitutionality of same-sex marriage as it takes up the 1996 Defense of Marriage Law. Yesterday's hearing brought out crowds from both sides of the issue, with most advocates and opponents of gay marriages happy simply to hoist signs and chant. Some, though, threw punches. No arrests were reported, but a few incidents were noted. [DailyMail]

Topping the news: Sen. Mike Lee said in a letter to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid that he'll join his conservative colleagues Sens. Rand Paul, R-Ky. and Ted Cruz, R-Texas, in filibustering any gun control measure that comes to the floor. [Trib] [Politico]
