The Utah Jazz have signed former Marquette guard Jerel McNeal to a 10-day contract, the team announced Wednesday morning.

McNeal has been playing with the Bakersfield Jam of the NBA Developmental League, where he averaged 18.1 points and 5.5 assists in 44 games this season.

McNeal, 25, is a two-time D-League All-Star. He has spent time in NBA training camps with the Houston Rockets, Toronto Raptors, Los Angeles Clippers and New Orleans Hornets.

McNeal spent 10 days on the regular-season roster of the Hornets in 2011, but did not play in any games.

A Chicago native, McNeal played four seasons at Marquette. He is the school's all-time leading scorer. He played in 130 games, which is also a Marquette record.

McNeal becomes the 10th D-League call-up in Jazz history, following Travis Leslie earlier in March. He will wear No. 23 with the Jazz.
