Mark Anderson pitches 82⁄3 scoreless innings to lead BYU over Utah Valley in baseball

Provo • Mark Anderson threw 8 2⁄3 scoreless innings and Jacob Hannemann was 3 for 4 with a home run and four RBIs as BYU beat Utah Valley 8-0 in college baseball Tuesday.

Hannemann hit a two-run homer during the Cougars' four-run fifth inning. Anderson (3-1) allowed six hits while striking out four. Note • Utah's game against the Salt Lake Bees was canceled because of wet infield conditions.


Oregon 11-11, Utah 3-1 • The Utes lost twice in Eugene to fall to 14-18 overall and 1-7 in Pac-12 play.
