Thanks to a gold medal at the recent 2013 National Collegiate Taekwondo Association Championships, University of Utah student Samery Moras became the first Utah female to make the Collegiate National Team.

Moras won a gold medal and a spot on the National Team in the 46kg Finweight Sparring division. She dominated the semifinal round with a 14-1 win against Jessican Junio from Colorado State and 6-5 against Katherine Trinh from UC Berkeley in the finals.

The Utah State Champion has also obtained a gold and bronze medal earlier this month at the World Taekwondo Open in Mexico. The University team will travel to a high level training camp in Korea to prepare for next year's World University Championships in China.
