A man was in critical condition after a hot tub fell on him at a Murray business late Wednesday morning.

Murray police spokesman Kenny Bass said the man had used a fork lift to raise the hot tub on its side and was making repairs to it when it suddenly tumbled onto him about 9 a.m.

The man's identity was not immediately released, but he reportedly was a business owner at the Spa Cooperative of Utah complex at 392 W. Winchester (6670 South).

Bass said the man, who sustained "significant head injuries," was rushed to Intermountain Medical Center. He was listed Wednesday afternoon in critical condition, Bass said.

The cause of the accident was under investigation.
