The Arizona State baseball team scored four runs over the final three innings to beat Utah 5-4 in 10 innings Friday in the opener of a Pac-12 series at Spring Mobile Ballpark.

Utah starter Mitch Watrous held the Sun Devils to two runs on eight hits with nine strikeouts over 72/3 innings, but the Utah bullpen faltered, and Luke West took the loss, giving up a walk, two singles and the winning run in the top of the 10th.

T.J. Bennett hit a triple and scored on a wild pitch to give Utah (16-21, 5-14) a 1-0 lead in the second inning. Connor Eppard hit a two-run homer in the sixth inning as Utah (16-21, 5-14) took a 4-1 lead before the Sun Devil (26-12, 9-7) rallied for the win.

Gonzaga 5, BYU 1 • In Spokane, Wash., Jaycob Brugman's seventh-inning home run accounted for BYU's only run as the Cougars (20-17, 7-7) lost to the West Coast Conference-leading Bulldogs (28-13-1, 15-5). Gonzaga left-hander Tyler Olson pitched a complete game, scattering seven hits and recording five strikeouts.

Gonzaga center fielder Alex Bonczyk hit a two-run homer, his first of the year, in the sixth to put the Zags up 5-0.

Stanford 8, Utah 0 • Utah's Mariah Ramirez went 2-for-2 at the plate, but the Utes (23-25-1, 6-13) had only four hits in the Pac-12 loss to the host Cardinal (30-16, 7-9). Utah left fielder Kate Dickman extended her current team-high hit streak to 16 games with a sixth-inning single.

BYU 13, CSU Bakersfield 6 • In Provo, Coco Tauali'i had three hits, including a three-run homer, and four RBIs as the Cougars scored the easy win.

The BYU men's tennis team beat host San Diego in a dramatic semifinal to advance to the West Coast Conference championship. After BYU fell behind 3-2, the Cougars won the final two singles matches in comeback fashion to eke out the victory.

BYU's John Pearce rallied to win the No. 6 singles match 6-7 (2), 6-4, 6-1 over San Diego's Ciaran Fitzgerald. The Cougars' Patrick Kawka then beat Thibaut Visy 6-4, 6-7 (8), 6-2 in the No. 1 singles match.
