Matt Shoemaker suffered his third straight loss, and the Salt Lake Bees lost for the fifth consecutive game, falling to the Sacramento River Cats 7-2 in Pacific Coast League action Sunday in Sacramento, Calif.

Shoemaker (1-4) gave up five earned runs, including a three-run homer to Sacramento's Michael Taylor in the fifth, in six innings of work.

The Bees (12-12) managed only five hits against the River Cats. Salt Lake closed within 5-2 in the seventh inning, but Sacramento's Jemile Weeks hit a two-run homer off Chad Cordero in the eighth inning to put the game out of reach.

Efren Navarro posted Salt Lake's only RBI of the game, and Luis Rodriguez extended his hitting streak to seven games.

The Bees return to Spring Mobile Ballpark to play Colorado Springs on Monday at 6:35 p.m.
