Western Nebraska Community College in Scottsbluff, Neb., continues to stock its roster with former Utah high school basketball stars. WNCC coach Russ Beck announced recently the signings of two more former Utah preps. The Cougars have signed Northridge High guard Preston Christensen and Joel Einfeldt, a former Cedar High all-stater who redshirted at Southern Utah University under coach Roger Reid before serving an LDS Church mission to Japan. Christensen and Einfeldt will join the team this fall. Christensen was recently named a Class 5A second-team all-stater. He scored 36 points in a single game last season against Davis. "I am really looking forward to working with Preston," Beck said. "He has a passion for the game and possesses a phenomenal work ethic and winning attitude. He is a big strong guard much like one of my former players Mike Peltz who is now playing for the Nebraska Cornhuskers in the Big Ten." Einfeldt is from the same town as WNCC assistant Yahosh Bonner. "My assistant coach Yahosh Bonner had been telling me about Joel for sometime and when Joel came to check out our school by no means did he disappoint. He really put on a show. He is a savvy guard that will bring a high basketball IQ and some experience to our squad. We are very excited about having Joel in the program and look forward to him doing some great things," Beck said. A few weeks ago, WNCC announced it had signed Syracuse High's Diante Mitchell and Mountain Crest High's Tyler Crosbie.
