When it comes to politics, I am sure I am both naïve and somewhat cynical; nevertheless, I can't help but wonder: Where have all of the courageous servant leaders gone, or did they ever really exist in the first place?

Despite the mess that is the U.S. political landscape (negative campaigning, political pandering and legislative gridlock), I actually do hold an idealistic optimism that it is possible for strong, principled political leaders with courage and integrity to find ways to get past rigid dogma and party ideology and create a unified vision and lead bipartisan compromise to get things done for the good of our local, state and national communities.
