Utah State will have another game on the ESPN family of networks, but the time and channel have yet to be decided.

The Aggies' Nov. 9 contest at UNLV was one of 15 games picked up by ESPN, the Mountain West announced Thursday afternoon. Five of Utah State's games have been picked up by CBS Sports Network, and another at San Jose State will air on ESPN, aside from the recently announced contest.

This announcement lacks the punch of the previous ones. ESPN could air the game on ESPNU or online on ESPN3 if it chooses. If UNLV continues its recent struggles, the game is probably a candidate for going online. That's not bad news, however: Anyone with an ESPN TV package can watch from a computer or mobile device.

In all, 22 Mountain West games will air on ESPN networks. Four Boise State home games were announced in the latest slate, unsurprising given that ESPN has claim to all of the Broncos home games if it wants them. Other teams that had multiple games snatched up by ESPN networks in the recently announced round of games include Wyoming, Fresno State, San Diego State, Nevada, Colorado State, Air Force, and UNLV.

Mountain West wraps up meetings

Conference athletic directors wrapped up meetings in Scottsdale, Ariz., recently to hash out some of the remaining questions as the conference prepares for next year with 11 full-time members and 12 football members.

Utah State athletic director Scott Barnes said the feeling there was one of buzz and excitement. He had heard things were a little different around this time last year.

"People told me last year was mostly about survival," he said. "But now we have a great group of ADs and coaches, and we're all excited about growing together. There was a high level of energy and synergy between schools that are a lot alike."

Among the things the meetings determined: The men's and women's basketball schedule will be 18 games. Barnes confirmed that the schedules would be computer generated, but couldn't comment on a San Diego Union Tribune report that the scheduling would be flexible to account for television rights and generating more exposure.

The difference is subtle, yet an important distinction. As Andy Katz explained in a blog for ESPN, it could make Utah State's schedule less difficult, but the league as a whole more relevant.

Extra Aggies links for offseason readers:

• Connor Williams was selected in the second round of the Canadian Football League Draft on Monday by Ottowa, an expansion team that won't begin play until 2014. If Williams gets passed over by the NFL next year, he might play near home. The Ottowa Sun wrote a pre-draft profile on Williams giving insight into his entry into the game.

• The Miami Dolphins' website has this story on Will Davis' friendly competition with fellow draft pick Jamar Taylor from Boise State.

• Kerwynn Williams has officially signed with the Indianapolis Colts. No holdout for the Utah State running back this summer.

• A way-too-early but intriguing series of predictions: CBS' Jerry Palm guesses which teams are going where for the 2013 bowl season. He slots Utah State in a match-up with Rice in the Hawaii Bowl on Christmas Eve. I'm stocking up on swim trunks and sunscreen already.
