Wind has knocked out power to almost 1,000 Salt Lake City residents.

Rocky Mountain Power reports that about 995 customers were without power Wednesday evening and won't have it back until about 10:30 p.m.

The outage has also caused a 12 minute delay in the TRAX blue line in the downtown area, according to the Utah Transit Authority.

The winds picked up to about 40 to 50 mph in the Salt Lake City area on Wednesday evening, according to the National Weather Service.
