Hundreds of shoppers descended Thursday on Farmington's Station Park shopping center for the opening of northern Utah's first H&M store.

This is the third location in the state for the popular Swedish fashion chain, which marked the occasion with giveaways and free refreshments for the scores of people who stood in line for hours for the noon opening.

Hennes & Mauritz, as it is formally known, also operates stores at Fashion Place Mall in Murray and at City Creek Center in downtown Salt Lake City.
