The two left lanes on Interstate 15 southbound near 13800 South were closed Monday night because the lane adjacent to the HOV lane buckled, apparently due to Salt Lake's 100-degree temperatures.

Crews were working on the problem, which was reported at about 7 p.m., according to the Utah Highway Patrol.

The damage was expected to be repaired by about midnight, according the Utah Department of Transportation.

About a week ago, near-90 degree afternoon temperatures caused similar problems on I-15 near 14600 South.
