A man was arrested, again, after he allegedly leapt from the backseat of a Riverdale police cruiser and drove it into the next county.

According to KUTV, Riverdale police initially detained the man in the car on suspicion of being intoxicated in public. Somehow, the suspect got out of his cuffs and into the driver's seat of the cruiser. He then drove the car as far as Clinton, where he abandoned the vehicle.

Riverdale Police Lt. James Ebert told the news station that a citizen tipped police off to the man's location, and officers were able to arrest him soon after.

Ebert said an officer fired one shot at the man as he drove away in the cruiser, according to KUTV. Although no one was injured in the shooting, the officer has been put on paid administrative leave as the incident is investigated according to protocol.
