The Utah Grizzlies will start the year with eight of their first 11 games at Maverik Center as the ECHL today released the game schedule for the 2013-2014 season.
Twenty-four of Utah's first 41 games will take place at home, with 19 of their final 31 games of the season on the road. Utah's season and home opener is Oct. 18 against the Idaho Steelheads at Maverik Center at 7:05 p.m., the third straight year and fourth time in the last six years that the Grizzlies will open against their closest regional rival in Boise based Idaho.
The Grizzlies will also make their first trip to the Eastern Conference when they travel to Orlando to take on the Solar Bears Jan. 2-4.
Utah will face every Western Conference team at least six times, with a high of 13 meetings against Idaho, featuring eight of those contests at Maverik Center. Utah will host Las Vegas in seven of 10 meetings and play more road games in Stockton than anywhere else with seven games slated for Stockton Arena. —
