Four juveniles were injured early Saturday in Alpine when they lost control of the stolen vehicle they were riding in and crashed, the Lone Peak Police Department reported.

At about 4 a.m. Saturday, officers observed the vehicle run a stop sign on Main street in Alpine at a high rate of speed.

Officers who attempted to catch the vehicle found it had crashed about a mile up a dead-end road after failing to negotiate a turn.

The four juveniles in the vehicle were all transported to area hospitals.

As of Saturday night, only one juvenile remained hospitalized. Police said he was in serious condition,

Police discovered the vehicle had been stolen earlier in the night. Inside the vehicle, officers found stolen property, alcohol and drugs.

The driver was booked into juvenile detention in connection with several alleged crimes. Police said they will recommend that prosecutors also charge the other three juveniles.
