Cartoonist's Note: I am away from my drawing table organizing the Association of American Editorial Cartoonists convention. In the meantime, I am featuring some of the attendees.
Kevin "Kal" Kallaugher, the great cartoonist for The Economist and The Baltimore Sun, has a new book out called "Daggers Drawn", and you can meet him tonight at a book signing at Ken Sander's Rare Books ,7pm.
Kal did what every honors graduate of Harvard does: in 1977 he went cycling around Britain and ended up coaching and playing basketball for the Brighton Bears. When the club hit hard times Kal drew caricatures for tourists in Trafalgar Square to make ends meet.
