Riverton coach Mike Miller has built a consistently successful program over the better part of the last decade, and that will continue in 2013 with a blend of key returners and new contributors.

On the offensive side of the ball, Riverton returns senior quarterback Connor Henderson and junior running back Cam Christensen, both highly important in the three running back wing-T offense that Miller runs. They also return three offensive linemen and all of their tight ends.

Six starters return on defense — two linemen, two linebackers and two defensive backs.

"It's similar to last year's team," Miller said. "We have a good blend."

But unlike last year's team, Miller expects to win a few more games and make a deeper run in the playoffs.

"We have depth coming back," Miller said. "While we were at camp last week in St. George, the kids were real successful during our organized scrimmages, and I loved how our younger guys contributed. We got some good juniors this year that will be impact players for us."

Miller's wing-T offense is modeled after the offenses of the NCAA service academies.

"They do a great job executing that offense," American Fork coach Aaron Behm said.

"Hopefully if you're watching us, you can never see where the ball is because of our deception," Miller said. "We're a fast-paced team. We're not no-huddle, but we're high tempo." —

Riverton Silverwolves

ASSIGNMENT • Region 4

LAST YEAR • 6-5 overall, 3-2 Region 4

KEY RETURNER • Presley Timothy, sr., OL. While Miller said that he's excited to have every starter back, he also said Timothy "might be the best offensive lineman we've ever had."

PLAYER TO WATCH • Brady Slack, sr., K/WR. Slack was Riverton's kicker last year, but will see time on offense this season after impressing coaches as a scout team wide receiver.

BIGGEST HOLE • Miller quipped that his team's biggest weakness was at the head coach position. He said the Silverwolves' biggest weakness other than that is a lack of size.

NEED TO KNOW • Miller is confident that his team will be near the top of Region 4 if the offense is well rounded — meaning if it can throw the ball effectively — something that can be challenging in the wing-T formation.
