Orlando, Fla. • Sometimes things are exactly as they seem. We reported yesterday the possible connection between the Jazz and free agent point guard John Lucas. Lucas spent the day at the Orlando Pro Summer League around Jazz officials. On Tuesday, Lucas' agent, Bernie Lee, told The Tribune that Lucas was in fact in town to meet with the Jazz and discuss the possibility of the 31-year-old joining the Jazz to back up and mentor rookie Trey Burke.

The sides have not reached an agreement and Lucas is continuing to meet with teams. Lee told USA Today's Jeff Zillgitt that Lucas will meet with another team Tuesday in his hometown of Houston.

Lucas has career averages of 5.1 points and 1.5 assists.
